Feb. 21--Sacramento will get another cellular phone provider starting Friday as Dallas-based MetroPCS attempts to grab a piece of the hypercompetitive market.
With its launch this week, MetroPCS will become the seventh wireless carrier to operate in the region, joining Verizon Wireless, Cingular Wireless, AT&T Wireless, Sprint PCS, SureWest Communications and Nextel Communications.
