When Tillamook County Creamery Association set out to build a satellite cheese plant, consistency was the biggest concern. The cheese coming out of the new plant in Boardman, Ore. had to be just like what was produced at the flagship plant in Tillamook, Ore.
Well, the new plant has been up and running since autumn of 2001 and the cheese that's coming out of it is Tillamook Cheese. Early indications are that the Columbia River Processing Facility will be able to duplicate the quality of product that's manufactured in Tillamook.
