NEW YORK -- While acknowledged as a good site for selling magazines, chain drug stores have to be selective in the titles they stock.
Not every kind of publication is suited for drug stores, publishers note. But those that are, offer the potential of driving traffic and generating sales in other categories.
Industry insiders say that because of the demographic makeup of chain drug shoppers and the trade class' positioning as a front-line health care provider, publications geared toward women and focusing on healthy living axe the most natural titles to include in a drug stores' periodicals section.
