This week I had the chance to ski Pete's Bowl in Blue Sky Basin at Vail.
I was skiing with a group, and we found a section in Pete's Bowl that was the dream of all advanced-level skiers. The pitch was steep, the snow deep and the trees tight. It is a challenging run for even the most experienced of skiers.
Deep powder is one of the more enjoyable and sought-after experiences an advanced skier can find. Especially at Vail.
The winds that blow loose snow from the front side of Vail Mountain and the back bowls tend to collect in Blue Sky Basin.
