SLEEPWEAR PARLEY SET TODAY
WASHINGTON (FNS) - Apparel industry officials are set to meet federal regulators today to lobby against a plan that would require all adult sleepwear to be classified by its flammability resistance, as well as bear a fire warning label.
The Intimate Apparel Council of the American Apparel Manufacturers Association will appeal to the three-member Consumer Product Safety Commission to adopt the trade group's own label-warning approach to reduce the incidence of adult sleepwear fires and reject one proposed by the agency's staff.
