Biliary Cirrhosis

Biliary cirrhosis is a disorder of bile secretion from the liver. It may be secondary to obstructed bile ducts or it may be a primary disorder with no immediately apparent cause. Primary biliary cirrhosis occurs most frequently in middle-aged women. Symptoms include jaundice; darkened urine and pale, yellowish stools that contain fat; itching and a darkening of the skin.
