Sexual Dysfunctions in Women
The most significant difference between male and female sexual dysfunction is that women can perform sexually and pretend to have an orgasm, whereas it is impossible for a man to simulate an erection. With increased awareness among women of their sexuality, however, the level of performance anxiety is now raised in both sexes. A woman has a greater capacity for physiological responsiveness in sexual activity than a man, enabling her to achieve an orgasm early in the arousal stage and to have more than one orgasm during the same sexual activity-factors that theoretically should protect against sexual problems.
