BELLEVUE -- For some, yesterday's Eid al-Adha celebration was particularly significant.
One woman, a recent convert to Islam, celebrated the Muslim festival of sacrifice for the first time. Another woman's 15-year-old grandson was in Mecca for the yearly hajj, or pilgrimage.
But even for those who didn't have such a specific reason to celebrate yesterday, Eid al-Adha is a special day. It marks the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca and commemorates their Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael in obedience to Allah, or God.
