Camp Santanoni is a truly unique place. Nestled between the Vanderwhacker Mountain Wild Forest and the High Peaks Wilderness Area, the three building complexes of the only publicly owned Adirondack Great Camp are strung like pearls on a necklace along the four-and-three-quarter mile Newcomb Lake Road. Visiting this gem via skis or snowshoes makes an enjoyable winter day trip in New York's central Adirondacks.
