Hispanic Catholics - who are some of Bernard Cardinal Law's closest supporters - are planning a campaign on behalf of the embattled archbishop, culminating with a march to his residence next weekend.
"We're doing it to support our cardinal and our church, to show that we are together,'' said Digna Cruz, a Roxbury resident.
So far, she said, organizers have collected 1,000 signatures they'll present to Law. They're also praying regularly and will recite the rosary as part of the effort, added Franki Mejia, another participant in the effort.
