Feb. 24--The good times for A-P-A Transport Corp., the North Bergen trucking company founded by Arthur Imperatore Sr. and his four brothers in 1947, were very good indeed.
For years, revenue grew, profits were hefty, and the company commanded industrywide respect. Imperatore courted clients in his 140-foot yacht and sporadically treated employees to a lavish vacation, once to Puerto Rico, another time on the Queen Elizabeth 2.
