ABIX via COMTEX) -- The financial crisis threatening German media group, Kirch, could prove to be an opportunity for News Corporation. The Australian listed global media player may use it to improve its position in Kirch's loss-making pay television venture, Premiere. News subsidiary, BSkyB, has a 22 per cent stake in the business, which is losing XEU80 million a month. News Corporation chief, Rupert Murdoch, met with Kirch Gruppe creditors in Berlin on 19 February 2002. There is speculation that Murdoch is considering forming an alliance with a German partner to take a controlling interest in Premiere.
