ABIX via COMTEX) -- A Special Air Service soldier killed in a land mine blast in Afghanistan will be afforded a military funeral in Perth. Sergeant Andrew Russell, leaves behind a widow, Kylie, a nurse at Fremantle Hospital, and two-week-old daughter he never got to see before his death. Russell was killed when the military scout car in which he was travelling hit a land mine in southern Afghanistan on 17 February 2002, the first Australian military casualty in a war zone since the Vietnam war.
