A 22.7% decrease in operating costs was recorded by the Australian-based newspaper publisher and media group to $A35.7m. A 3.4% decrease in costs to $A15.5m was recorded by the publication assets of John Fairfax for the six months ending 31 December 2001. A 10.8% decrease in trading revenue to $A579.1m was recorded by the publishing assets. An overall 20.5% decrease in net operating cash flow to $A74.5m was felt by the group.
