A strong pitch by the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. (EADS) on tankers based on modified versions of Airbus A330 commercial jetliners could lead the Air Force to ask Congress to amend legislation clearing the service to enter exclusive negotiations with Boeing [BA] for aerial refueling planes based on the 767 passenger aircraft, according to military sources.
