ABIX via COMTEX) -- Siam City Cement will become the new owner of a majority stake in TPI Polene. The leading creditors of the Thai-based cement manufacturer are Chanthaburi Asset Management, Krung Thai Bank, Bangkok Bank and Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau. Siam City Cement is a member of the cement industry in Thailand and is owned by Holcim in Switzerland. The share price of
TPI Polene decreased by 7.8% to Bht13.10 on 22 February 2002. The share price of Siam City increased by 5.1% to Bht145. The debt of TPI Polene was Bht51.2bn at 30 September 2001. The purchase price for the 1.7075 million shares is $US375m.
