OXNARD - Flights from Oxnard Airport to Phoenix - the only out-of-state flights from the airport in a decade - may be possible under a plan that won tentative approval, despite some neighbors' concerns.

In a 2-1 vote, with two members absent, a divided Oxnard Airport Authority recommended that an Arizona-based airline be allowed to create two daily flights from Oxnard to Phoenix.

The decision now moves to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, which will hold a final vote on either Aug. 1 or 8.
