PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Spain-based OBRASCON HUARTE LAIN S.A. (OHL) recently started-up construction work on a series of flood control projects for the Honduran SULA VALLEY EXECUTIVE COMMISSION (CEVS). The undertaking in question is intended to prevent flood damage for at least 20 years.
The upgrade will reportedly involve: - Diverting the Chamelecon River through the city of La Lima; - Raising and strengthening streets and urban zones along the
riverbanks.
The cost to complete the works has been pegged at $53,000,000 of which some 70% is coming from the ARAB COOPERATION FUND.
Project completion is scheduled in about 18 months ...
