NEWPORT - A Lincoln County Circuit Court judge said Monday he won't block media coverage of Christian Longo's murder trial, despite the contention of Longo's attorney that excessive attention could turn court proceedings into a "circus" and damage his chances for a fair trial.
Judge Robert Huckleberry's ruling came in response to a motion by Longo's lead defense counsel, Ken Hadley, for the court to halt all photography - still photos and video - in the courtroom or courthouse. Hadley contended that such photography would hurt Longo's chances to be judged by a fair and impartial jury.
