The Clippers admit they have interest in Joe Smith, though the possibility of anything happening is unlikely.
Smith had his contract voided Wednesday by NBA commissioner David Stern as part of the punishment for Smith and the Minnesota Timberwolves circumventing the salary cap.
``We would have an interest in him,'' said Elgin Baylor, the Clippers vice president of basketball operations. ``We would have to find out what his thoughts are and what his thinking is.''
The Clippers are about $4.5 million under the salary cap and could offer Smith one of the biggest one-year contracts of any NBA team. Smith ...
