DEL MAR - Defending champion General Challenge drew post position 2 for Saturday's $1 million Pacific Classic, and his barnmate River Keen landed post 1.

Their trainer, Bob Baffert, wasn't thrilled with the sometimes-tricky inside starting spots, although General Challenge won the Pacific Classic from post 1 in 1999, Bertrando won from post 1 in 1993, and Dare and Go won from post 2 in 1996.

``The main concern is whether your horse is training well, rather than what post you get,'' Baffert said Wednesday morning in Del Mar's Plaza de Mexico. ``We'll just have to live with it.''
