It was only a few years ago that Oscar De la Hoya gave Bob Arum his Olympic gold medal one emotional evening to thank the promoter for his role in the fighter's phenomenal success.
Last week, De La Hoya sued Arum to end their eight-year association.
During that eight years, Arum often described De La Hoya as one of the best people he's encountered in a nasty business.
Last week, he used expletives to describe the one-time Golden Boy and cited a character flaw: Lack of loyalty.
Sad? Perhaps. Surprising? Not really. De La Hoya is that greedy and Arum that egotistical.
