He hadn't thrown a varsity football pass of significance before Taft High's season opener Friday against Banning, yet nobody in the region faces more pressure, expectations and scrutiny than Toreadors quarterback Ricky Clausen this year.
Clausen isn't just taking over at Taft, where he operates the Toreadors' well-oiled offensive machine, he's also following in the footsteps of his heralded older brother, Casey, the former Alemany star now at the University of Tennessee. Plus there's Taft's previous quarterback, Brandon Hance, now at Purdue.
