VENTURA - Mesa Airlines West got the go-ahead Tuesday to fly two round trips a day between Oxnard Airport and Phoenix, despite complaints from about a dozen opponents concerned about jet noise.

Plans call for Mesa to provide carrier service for America West beginning in December. United Airlines now offers six round-trip flights daily between Oxnard and Los Angeles International Airport.
