Rosh Hashana, the start of the Jewish new year, will begin at sundown today, marking the annual 10-day period in which Jews are to ask for forgiveness from those they have wronged, including God.
Jews reflect on how to change their lives for the better in the coming year.
``Rosh Hashana means literally `head of the year.' For the Jew, Rosh Hashana is not just a secular celebration. It's an opportunity to examine your life and find the areas that need improvement,'' said Rabbi Moshe Rothblum of Adat Ari El in Valley Village. ``It's a time to try and make your life and yourself better.''
