``I guess I have a little special attachment to him,'' USC basketball coach Henry Bibby was saying the other day about his starting point guard, Brandon Granville.
And it's true; Bibby is a thorn attached to Granville's side.
In Bibby's classroom, you see, it isn't instantly gratifying to be the teacher's pet. The Trojans' fifth-year coach isn't into coddling. He'll harangue a player before he'll hug him.
With Granville, especially, Bibby turns up the volume on his voice and adds a little extra voltage to his glare. It can be hard to tell sometimes whether Bibby's preparing the 5-foot-9 junior to be an NBA point ...
