ANAHEIM - Another night, another opportunity lost for the Mighty Ducks in their frustrating attempt to battle back into the Western Conference playoff race.
Desperately needing two points, the Ducks had to settle for one in a 2-2 tie with the Kings before a sellout crowd of 17,174 at The Pond on Wednesday.
The point moved Anaheim ahead of Calgary into sole possession of ninth place, but the Ducks fell six points back of San Jose and Edmonton.
Firmly entrenched in a playoff spot, the fifth-place Kings moved two points ahead of Phoenix.
