With all the moaning and groaning this week about the sale of the Los Angeles Times to the Tribune Company, you'd think that the City of Chicago was buying Dodger Stadium, the Hollywood sign and the San Gabriel Mountains and airlifting them lock, stock and barrel to the Lake Michigan shorefront.
Let's face it, some SoCal institutions are more missable than others. After all, who needs Kurt Warner when you've got Shaquille O'Neal? Or the Chandlers when you've got the Gettys and the Beatty-Benings?
