A MISSION of nuns which cares for Liverpool's homeless has lost a battle to save its secret garden.
Up to three quarters of the garden in Seel Street, in the heart of Liverpool city centre, will now be lost.
A hostel for the homeless will also have to close and move into a new part of the convent.
They will make way for a new public square which is regarded as crucial to the regeneration of the Duke Street area of the city.
Council officials had considered a compulsory purchase order to facilitate the development in what is known as the Rope Walks area.
