ENURESIS is a common pediatric problem that sometimes represents a significant psychosocial problem for children and their parents. The condition is often misunderstood, shrouded in family secrecy, and frequently undertreated. An estimated 5 million to 7 million children and adolescents in the United States have enuresis. The need for medical intervention is based on the emotional and social stigma associated with bedwetting, as well as the inconvenience and possible family tensions it causes.
