LEEDS UNITED'S players rushed to coach Brian Kidd's defence yesterday as they tried to prevent the club's traumatic season being further blighted by their own fans.
England internationals Rio Ferdinand, Nigel Martyn and Alan Smith spoke out in support of Kidd after the former Manchester United No.2 was abused by 2,000 angry fans following the goalless draw at Everton on Sunday.
