UNIVERSAL CITY - One of the largest Chinese groups in Los Angeles will unveil plans tonight for the construction of the city's first major cultural center for the growing ethnic community.
The San Fernando Valley Chinese Cultural Association, which represents some 1,000 families, currently rents space around the Valley to teach classes on language, art, dance and music. The group also puts on cultural events and provides legal and business services.
After five years of fund raising, the agency has amassed more than $400,000 and is looking for five acres of land in the Valley to build the first phase of the ...
