NORTHRIDGE - With a boost from baby boomer alumni, California State University, Northridge, raised a record $21.5 million last fiscal year as donations rocketed 55 percent from the previous fund drive.
Gifts from alumni, businesses and foundations climbed from $5 million in 1998-99 to almost $7.88 million in 1999-00, an increase of more than 50 percent.
Revenues from grants, contracts and endowment income pushed the total to $21.5 million in monies raised, a record for the 42-year-old university.
