Senior guard Jason Awad scored 17 second-half points to help the No. 3 state-ranked Faith Heritage boys basketball team withstand a Sackets Harbor rally to win the Section 3 Class D championship 72-58 Tuesday night at Oswego State.
The sectional championship is the first in Faith Heritage's basketball history.
"The basketball program has historically been a good program, but these kids have taken it to another level," Faith Heritage coach Dan Sorber said.
