A FALCON normally only found in the Arctic has been spotted in North Wales.
The White Morph Gyr falcon, with a four foot wingspan, was first spotted shortly before lunchtime yesterday flying over Beddmanarch Bay, east of Holyhead, and by last night was reported roosting on the towering cliffs of South Stack, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds reserve, near the Anglesey port.
Hundreds of bird watchers were last night expected to head for the region following the rare sightings.
Alan Davies of Birdline Wales, based in Llandudno, dashed to the cliffs once the "word" started to reach twitchers.
