THIS REVIEW ESSAY ORIGINATED IN MY FRUSTRATION in trying to get some of these books reviewed. At least half a dozen people declined and another three returned the books after having agreed to review them. As the books came back the third time, the book by Shaffer arrived, and I began to think about what the relationship was and is between cooperation and utopianism. Later I heard about the report by Altus, and she kindly provided me with a copy.
