THE controversy over the proposed removal of the Bonifacio Monument from its original site in Caloocan City has stirred both interest and apprehension from various sectors of the national community, including congressional circles and local government leaders.
The dispute was sparked by Caloocan City Mayor Reynaldo Malonzo's suggestion for its transfer to Tala district, a move that was promptly objected to by the National Historical Institute.
