The City Council's closed-session agenda tonight includes a performance evaluation of the interim city manager, which could provide a barometer of the board's intention for filling the post permanently.
The item is part of a regular review of top positions, but comes as the council also is scheduled to discuss its city manager search, which has narrowed to three candidates, including MaryJane Lazz, the interim administrator.
However, some cautioned against reading too much into the council's action on the performance evaluation, saying one issue doesn't directly correspond to the other.
