By now, most Marmonte League boys' basketball coaches are just counting the days until Simi Valley gets dismantled. Having seen enoughof the powerful trio of Pioneers center Rafael Berumen and forwards Branduinn Fullove and Bret Michel, opponents look forward to the day when the playing court is more balanced.
Even though Newbury Park rose up to win the Marmonte League title last year and tied for it the year before, that had more to do with the individual play of former Panthers star Daniel Bobik than a lack of talent on Simi Valley's part.
