This is the week the Calabasas girls' soccer team finds out if it can keep its spot atop the Frontier League for another season. The Coyotes open league play with games against Malibu and Nordoff.
Malibu, Nordhoff and Moorpark provided the Coyotes with the stiffest competition in recent years. Moorpark is gone to the Marmonte League and Malibu is having a down year, so Calabasas and Nordhoff are left as the favorites.
The Coyotes host Nordhoff at 5 p.m. Friday.
``That'll be the true test to see who's the team to beat,'' Calabasas coach Melisa Danio said.
Defense is the Coyotes' ...
