When it comes to car dealerships, Glendale has been king in its longstanding competition with Burbank for new businesses.
Glendale pulls in $3 million a year in sales tax from blocks and blocks of dealerships along Brand Boulevard. Burbank has just one new-car dealership.
But now Burbank is on the offensive.
City leaders are hoping to lure new dealerships to prime sites on 30 acres of vacant land once occupied by Lockheed and the Zero Manufacturing Co.
