Hoping to gain a little political muscle in their battle to preserve a flock of neighborhood peafowl, residents went to the Susana Knolls Homeowners Association for help.

What they came away with was a commitment from the board that it would become involved in informing residents of ways to discourage birds from entering areas where they are unwanted.

Board members did not take a position on the subject Tuesday night, but board President Paige Moser volunteered to be the board's liaison to the community.
