Angry tenants of the Camarillo and Oxnard airports are demanding that county officials halt proposed rent hikes of up to 60 percent and closely scrutinize the spending practices of Facilities Manager Rod Murphy.
The 155-member Camarillo Airport Hangar Owners Association also wants Camarillo and Oxnard airport authorities to mandate monthly audits of the $3 million-a-year operation.
``The county needs to put in control so Mr. Murphy can be held accountable,'' said association President Bob Fowler. ``Income is higher than it's ever been because he's fully leased. It's spending that's out of control. ...
