Finally, someone other than Mo Vaughn got a hit when it mattered for the Angels.
Darin Erstad hit the first pitch thrown by Toronto Blue Jays reliever Nerio Rodriguez over the right-field fence in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Angels a 4-3 victory Monday night before 17,324 at Edison Field.
Through 10 innings, the Angels' offense consisted of an RBI single by Vaughn, an RBI double by Vaughn and a run that scored on a wild pitch.
But Erstad's homer - his second of the season - left no doubt, easily clearing the fence in right at an estimated at 400 feet. It was the first game-winning homer by an Angel ...
