Consistent hitting wasn't enough. Brandon Voorhees has found another way to attract attention. The Moorpark College freshman is showing off speed he rarely got a chance to display in high school and it helped keep him in a lineup he couldn't crack at the beginning of the season.
Voorhees is among the Western State Conference's stolen-base leaders. His ability to beat out infield hits had him ranked fourth in the WSC with a .429 batting average entering the week. Plus, he's been running down fly balls with apparent ease since moving to center field in midseason.
