Maybe now it's only a matter of time before a pair of mouse ears sprouts from Tournament House.

In a flurry of cartoon characters and confetti, Roy E. Disney, scion of the Disney entertainment empire and nephew of 1966 grand marshal Walt Disney, took center stage Wednesday as grand marshal of the 2000 Rose Parade.

Disney made his appearance flanked by more instantly recognizable characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Snow White and Dopey.
