A city-governed agency is proposed to meet and perpetuate Santa Clarita's rising stature as a cultural arts center within Los Angeles County, advocates say.
A plan initiated through the city Parks and Recreation Commission calls for hiring a full-time staffer, at $66,000 per year, to supervise the arts agency and organize local cultural groups or artists in marketing their events and securing available grants.
Total costs to staff the supervisor with an accompanying clerk and programming specialist, plus overhead expenses, are projected to be $181,000 per year, officials said. As the project progresses, the ...
