Tired of overdesigned, underimagined and utterly soulless superhero movies?
So were the makers of ``Mystery Men.'' Though based on a long-running set of supporting characters in Dark Horse Comics' ``Flaming Carrot'' series that satirized the absurdities of that sturdiest of comic book genres, the $70 million movie production had to do more than just take obvious shots at broad targets.
After all, wasn't the last ``Batman'' sequel such an unintentional self-parody that it probably couldn't be topped?
