San Fernando High celebrated its 36-33 victory over Kennedy on Friday night as if it had just won the inaugural Valley Mission League title.
Another water dousing for San Fernando coach Sean Blunt might loom in the future at the Tigers' current pace.
A week after knocking off defending City champion Taft, San Fernando rallied from a 19-0 second-quarter deficit to improve to 6-0 in the league opener at Kennedy. The Tigers are off to their best start since 1991, when San Fernando advanced to the City 4-A quarterfinals. Kennedy (3-3) lost its third in a row after a 3-0 start.
