Not leaving anything to chance, supporters of Hill Canyon showed up in force as the City Council took the first step to rezone the former proposed golf course site as open space.
The council's 5-0 vote late Tuesday also allows the city to continue negotiations to use a portion of the land to satisfy regulatory agencies requiring that open space be set aside before the city can proceed with badly needed repairs to one of its two major sewer pipelines.
